Handover completed for Prospect House!
We are delighted to announce that we reached completion of the design and construction for Prospect House Special School in Blackley, Manchester.
Prospect House is a new Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) Primary at the Site of the former Camberwell Park Primary School. The building provides places for 100 pupils across ages 3-11 years, of which 10 will be early-years places. The pupils attending have a wide range of special educational needs, medical needs, physical disabilities and sensory impairment.
The development comprised the demolition of the existing Camberwell Park Primary School and the erection of a new school building with associated external areas; mixed-use games area, soft informal play area, sensory habitat area and drop off/ car parking area.
The school is operated by Prospere Learning Trust and has been funded by the Department for Education (DfE). The school’s mission is to deliver outstanding and distinctive education through traditional values with a modern bright vision & a rich curriculum.
The driving factor of the design has been to ensure that the design of the building and external spaces respond to, and support the range of pupils’ education, therapeutic and medical needs required at the school. Whilst providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment that will develop the students’ skills and creativity placing the children at the heart of the school – which we believe has been achieved.
The building has a gross internal floor area of 2914 square metres contained solely at ground floor level, as required by the Prospere Trust.
